July 19 - August 12, 2018 at Feast Art Center, Tacoma, WA
This new body of work began while looking at old reliquaries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on a layover to a 2017 residency at the Vermont Studio Center. I was attracted to thinking about how we try to preserve memories through objects and to consider the question: What kind of vessel do you make to hold something so important?
